SHERBURNE – After Sherburne-Earlville’s previously scheduled game was cancelled, it was agreed upon to play neighbors Norwich. Both teams competed consistently in their first game of the 2022 season where Norwich snuck by with a 39-33 win.

Norwich also held S-E in the second half after being down 21-18 at halftime. While their defense was hard at work, the offense was able to score 21 points in the final 16 minutes to take home the victory.

The Purple Tornado were led by Josey Ryan and Emma Urgo who both scored 10 points while Olivia Schiraldi scored six and Cameron Van Houten had five.

The Marauders were also appreciative of a well-rounded scoring night as Chesnee Miller and Alex Grzymkowski both had eight points while teammate Hannah Todd-Rogers scored seven in the loss.

Norwich (1-0) will be competing in the Maine-Endwell tip-off tournament over the weekend while S-E (0-1) will be at Hamilton on Friday. Both games are scheduled to begin around 7 p.m.
