VOLLEYBALL: Greene Suffers Tough Loss To Sidney

GREENE – On Wednesday, the Greene Trojans volleyball team played strong to force a fifth game in the 3-2 loss to Sidney.

Both teams battled it out in the first game where Sidney moved slightly ahead 26-24. Greene took the second and fourth games to force a fifth after Sidney evened up in the third.

Leading the way for the Trojans was Morgan Quarella with six aces as Lyla Biefeldt picked up four aces and Camric Williams with three aces.

Nicole Marks had four assists and collected an ace and a kill while Williams finished with an assist and two kills to go along with the aces. Lillian Kemp contributed with two aces in the loss.

Chelsea Jerman led Sidney with 15 service points while teammate Kelcie Cowan earned 14 and Kate Youngs had seven service points. Cowan, along with Mikaylee Woodin, picked up five kills. Gabby Gavin had five digs and Kenzie Gregory collected four assists in the win.

Greene is still looking for their first win of the season with a few games remaining. They travel to Deposit this evening for a match at 6 p.m.
