FOOTBALL: BG Picks Up First Win Over Harpursville/Afton

BAINBRIDGE – After taking some hard hits in the last few games, Bainbridge-Guilford came to play against Harpursville/Afton, where they earned their first win of the season 21-7.

The Bobcats were led by Nolan Hawkins. Hawkins rushed for 31 yards and scored two touchdowns, while he threw a 22 yard pass to Noah Patton to kick off the scoring. Hawkins did it all, even making the extra points after scoring.

Behind Hawkins, Damon Seymour had 11 carries for 84 yards while Ethan Beames rushed for 57 yards in the Bobcats’ 213 yards of rushing to go along with their 97 yards of passing to give them a total of 310 yards.

Harpursville/Afton finally got on the board with less than a minute to go in the fourth quarter as Landon Lee scored a four yard rushing touchdown, deep in BG’s territory.

BG travels to Spencer-Van Etten on Friday, October 7 at 7 p.m.
