GREENE – Over the weekend, the Greene Trojans boys soccer team hosted their 12th annual soccer tournament, featuring UV/GMU, Windsor, and Chenango Forks.

Greene defeated UV/GMU 4-0 in the first round, leading them to the championship game against Forks. Liam Flanagan scored three goals as teammate Colin Colgan scored one in the victory. Kloden Rapp and Flanagan would both pick up assists. Greene made 17 shots with nine cornerkicks while UV/GMU finished with five shots and two corners. Tony Sergi and Eli Sepulveda-Kiefer split time in goal for the Trojans. Sergi made five saves while Sepulveda-Kiefer made one. UV/GMU’s Tucker Cattanach made nine saves in the loss.

UV/GMU went on to the consolation game where they lost 6-3 to Windsor. Haywood Edwards, Trayson Murray, and Devin Hartwell each scored a goal in the loss. Murray, Owen Hill, and Hartwell earned assists. Cattanach made nine saves in goal.

Greene suffered a 1-0 loss to Chenango Forks in the championship game. The lone goal was scored less than 10 minutes in the first half, leaving many chances for Greene to tie it. Kloden Rapp put up five shots on goal but each were saved. Sergi made four saves in the loss.

After both games, the All-Tournament awards were given out. For UV/GMU, Owen Hill and Trent Marinelli received honors. Rapp, Kegan Evans, Jonah Browning, and Liam Flanagan received honors for the Trojans, along with a second place trophy.
