NEW BERLIN – On Friday night, the Unadilla Valley Storm captured its first win of the season in a shutout 53-0 win over Oxford. The Storm had a strong running game as Jacob Prentice and Kaden Butts found the end zone twice while Trent Zvirdin, Isaiah Salimbagon, and Wyatt Meade each scored one rushing touchdown.

Butts led the team in rushing with 119 yards while Prentice led with 215 all-purpose yards, including 94 rushing yards. Meade picked up 155 all-purpose yards while also making 12 tackles on defense and recovered an interception for a 60 yard return.

Oxford saw the red zone on a few offensive drives, including a last minute drive before halftime. That drive was set up by a pass to Chance Reynolds with David Tucker under pressure by defenders. Reynolds would be trusted again near the goal line but the pass fell incomplete. Oxford could not set up another try as time expired.

Unadilla Valley (1-1) will stay home to face Moravia on Friday night while Oxford (0-2) will host Greene. Both games start at 7 p.m.
