GREENE – With horseshoe season in its final weeks, there continues to be a battle for third place in the Tri-County Horseshoe League standings.

There is no doubt Octagon will stay in first as they hold a demanding 23 game lead. Betty’s Boys II sits comfortably at second with Riverside and Betty’s Boys tied for third place.

Octagon defeated Riverside 12-4 while Betty’s boys finished in a 8-8 tie with Brisben for the week of September 8. Riverside and Betty’s Boys both hold a record of 174-130.

Pond Crew is just one game back from both of them at 173-131. Pond Crew suffered a close 10-6 loss to Betty’s Boys II. All three teams will continue to duke it out for the third place spot in the remaining few weeks.

To round out the 21st week, Dam Team defeated Chuggers 10-6 and Seebers earned the 11-5 victory over Bowlodrome, who remains in last place. Ticknors holds still on a bye week.
