ENDICOTT – The Norwich Purple Tornado golf team traveled to Enjoie Golf Course on Wednesday for a non-league match against Union-Endicott. Norwich played well but suffered a 205-237 loss to the Tigers.

“A non-league match with Dinunzio Champion U-E at Enjoie GC was a treat,” coach David Branham said. “Hopefully our kids realize learning how a very good team plays can be almost as important as winning.”

For Norwich, Jacob Morris and Julien Smith shared top medalist honors with both shooting a 45 on the day. Behind them was Jacob Dowdall with a 46. Braden Reid chipped in a 50 as Aiden Stafford finished with a 51.

Union-Endicott’s top medalist shot a 34 while their highest score was a 46, that was not needed, but they brought a good challenge to Norwich.

Norwich heads to Oneonta for a league match on Friday at 4 p.m.
