SHERBURNE – Coming off their own kick-off tournament, the Sherburne-Earlville boys soccer team played Canastota on Tuesday. The Marauders suffered a close 3-1 loss in non-league action, but picked up two seeding points from playing non-league schools with a total of five points.

Canastota led 1-0 at the half. S-E tried to make a comeback in the second half with their own goal, but failed to do so. Michael Behret scored the lone goal for Sherburne. The Raiders’ Ryan Sanderson’s two goals on the day was enough to win the game, along with a goal from Joey Kauzlauskis. S-E’s Owen Brown made four saves in the loss.

The Marauders are still looking for their first win of the season, which they hope comes against Sauquoit Valley on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
