NORWICH – In Tuesday’s 231-307 win over Sus Valley, the Norwich Golf team achieved its lowest score since the 2018 season. Their second match of the season also brought a different medalist as Julien Smith shot the lowest, 43, on the day for the Purple Tornado. Sus Valley struggled as its top medalist was Issac Spottek with a 53.

Behind Smith, Braden Reid continues to do well for Norwich. He chipped in a 45 as Jacob Morris finished with a 47. Jacob Dowdall and Aiden Stafford both shot a 48.

For the JV squad, the team combined with a score of 272. Carmine Pastore finished with a 50 as Matthew Brunick shot a 51. The JV squad is made up of the other six golfers when an opponent only brings its best six to give everyone a chance to still get playing time. Norwich has a stacked team with 14 members.

Norwich will stay home to face Chenango Forks Wednesday afternoon for a tee off scheduled at 11 a.m.
