GREENE – For the week of August 18, Octagon holds a comfortable lead while everyone else seems to be standing still after the 18th week of play.

Octagon continues to hold a demanding lead with a record of 191-65, which is 23 wins ahead of Betty’s Boys II (168-88). Octagon made up their match from last week with Dam Team, who played twice this week, and defeated them 11-5.

Betty’s Boys II defeated Riverside 10-6 to secure the second place spot as Pond Crew and Betty’s Boys both won to stay in the top five. Brisben and Ticknors ended in a 8-8 tie.

The biggest surprise of the week was Chuggers finally coming alive and moving out of the final spot of the standings. They scored just four points this week in the 12-4 loss to Pond Crew. But, it was enough as they watched Bowlodrome suffer a 13-3 loss to Dam Team. Chuggers is currently ahead of Bowlodrome by four wins. The Tri-County Horseshoe League plays every Thursday night.
