NORWICH – On Monday, Johnson City’s Post-1305 defeated Norwich’s Post-189 7-3.

Post-189 had their chances late in the seventh inning but failed to turn things around with the bases loaded. Post-189 features players around Chenango County that are mostly juniors and seniors.

JC jumped on board early in the first inning with a run scored on an RBI single before running away with the game with two runs in the second and two final runs in the third and fifth.

Nick Ragonese reached base four times at the plate for Post-189, including a single and an RBI double with two walks. Drew Emerich also drove in a run on an RBI single while Torin Lawrence scored on a bases loaded walk to Blaine Blinebry.

On the mound for Post-189, Torin Lawrence went three innings, striking out five batters while Trey Bates finished the game with six strikeouts.

Post-189 will host Binghamton Post 80 on July 5 at 6 p.m.
