NEW BERLIN – Preferred Mutual Insurance Company announces the 2022 scholarship recipients for the Preferred Foundation Scholarship and the Irad and Jan Ingraham / James W. Honeywell Memorial Scholarship.

The Preferred Foundation, the corporate giving entity of Preferred Mutual Insurance Company, has a long-standing commitment to helping young people achieve their goals. For 30 years, the Preferred Foundation has been awarding scholarship support to graduating high school

seniors from Otsego, Delaware or Chenango Counties who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to their community.

We are pleased to announce that Alexander Page, of Morris Central School, is the first-place recipient of the 2022 Preferred Mutual Foundation Scholarship. Page will be attending Siena College in the fall, where he will major in Political Science, with a Pre-Law certification in partnership with Albany Law School. Page will receive $3,000 each year for four years. Natalie Segina, of Laurens Central School, is the second-place recipient of the 2022 Preferred Mutual Foundation Scholarship. She will be attending Rochester Institute of Technology in the fall and plans to major in Biology and Pre-Health Science. Segina will receive $1,500 each year for four years.

The Irad and Jan Ingraham / James W. Honeywell Memorial Scholarship, administered by the Preferred Foundation, awards Unadilla Valley Central School seniors with a demonstrated record of strong community service and academic standing with scholarship support for four years at the college or university of the students’ choice.

Morgan Hodge is the first-place awardee of the 2022 Irad and Jan Ingraham / James W. Honeywell Memorial Scholarship. Hodge, who will be attending Cornell University in the fall with plans to major in Animal Science, will receive $1,500 each year for four years. Ben Gorrell is the second-place awardee of the 2022 Irad and Jan Ingraham / James W. Honeywell Memorial Scholarship and will receive $1,000 each year for four years. Gorrell will be attending either SUNY Morrisville or SUNY Cobleskill this fall and plans to study Diesel Technology and Dairy Animal Science.
