NORWICH– After capturing their first win over Horseheads last week, the Norwich Purple Tornado flag football team did it again, this time in the playoffs. Norwich won 38-12 on Thursday night to clinch a spot in the championship.

Julia Llewellyn was the player of the game for Norwich with three touchdowns and two interceptions. One touchdown came off an interception for a pick-six in the second half.

Teammate Megan Lindridge also had big stops on defense, including multiple sacks while Elle Sherry picked up a major interception to end the first half.

While quarterback Cameron VanHouten threw for two touchdown passes, she scored Norwich’s last touchdown with five minutes remaining. Maya Adoff also scored a rushing touchdown and made big plays on defense to prevent Horseheads from scoring.

After this win for Norwich, they head to Chenango Valley next week for the Section IV silver bracket championship.
