Sherburne Woman Arrested After Stabbing At Gas Station

SHERBURNE — A woman who stabbed a man inside a gas station convenience store was quickly arrested after the quick actions of a New York State Police Investigator.

On Thursday, May 12, shortly after 8 p.m., an Investigator walked into Stewarts on State Route 12 in the village of Sherburne when he saw a man and a woman physically fighting. He attempted to separate the two when the woman stabbed the man. The Investigator restrained the woman and store employees called 911.

Employees assisted the victim until Sherburne EMS arrived and rendered medical care. The victim, identified as Daniel R. Purdy, age 56, of Sherburne, was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. He suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The woman, identified as Jessica R. Collins, age 25, of Sherburne, was charged with the class “B” felony of Assault in the first degree. She was processed and transported to Chenango County Jail.

New York State Police were assisted on scene by Chenango County Sheriff’s Deputies.

The incident remains under investigation.

This makes no sense, a few weeks ago a man murders another breaking dozens of laws and doesn't get held when the SAFE act requires being held. Yet this woman stabs a man and is held after committing only a couple crimes. Get it together law enforcement your job is to enforce the law not to pick witch ones you want to !!
