OXFORD– The Oxford Blackhawks tennis team was dominant in doubles, but fell short 3-2 against Chenango County neighbors Greene in singles.

In the singles matches, Greene racked up their three points.

Maeric Barrows defeated John Rovente in both sets with scores of 6-1 and 6-4.

Shane Rideout earned the victory against Ethan Ehly 6-4 and 6-2 while Alex Boel got past Sam Hendricks 6-1 and 6-3.

For the doubles, Oxford earned both points as Madalyn Barrows and Ethan Fleury defeated Cassie Butler and Paul Starliper 6-2 and in a close 6-4 set.

Jill Finch and Jocie Finch got the win against Paige Estabrook and Samantha Darling in a best of three. Greene took the first set 6-4, but Jill and Jocie won the final two sets (6-4, 6-4).
