Sherburne Public Library Has Several Activities For All Ages
Published: April 29th, 2022

SHERBURNE — The Sherburne Public Library is all abuzz on Tuesday mornings! Do you miss the human connection that social gatherings give us? Do you like coffee (or tea or hot chocolate)? Coffee Tuesdays might be just what you need.

Each Tuesday the library is providing space and the coffee, and a few treats, upstairs in front of the fireplace between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. This is an unstructured gathering available to anyone who wishes to stop by and enjoy some company and/or conversation. We hope you’ll stop by!

The book sale, which has been going on throughout the month of April becomes a bag sale on Friday, April 29. Only $1 per bag. There are still a lot of great books and DVD’s up for sale.

The sale ends on May 7. Please come in during regular library hours – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Come get ‘em while they last!

Our annual summer reading program is coming up, with the kick-off on Tuesday, June 28. The theme this year is “Oceans of Possibilities." Youth librarian, Mr. Mike, has lots of fun programming and activities planned for all ages. This will include presentations by the Utica Zoomobile, author Suzanne Bloom, the Green Golly Project and Didgeridoo Down Under.

Also for young children will be the return of the Children’s Theater and Story Time. Teen activities will include trivia, an escape room, and more. There are also some fun adult activities being planned. And of course, reading incentives will be in place to win prizes. Everyone can and is encouraged to participate!

Are you a crafty person? Do you have a teachable skill you’d like to share? If you have any ideas for programming at the Sherburne Public Library, please contact the library – we are always looking for more ideas and people with a skills who might want to do a workshop! Call us at 607-674-4242 or email sh.ill@4cls.org.
