OXFORD — Spring is here, and that means two things at the Oxford Winter Farmer’s Market — the final indoor Market of the winter season and the last of the Community Seed Giveaway. Both will be held this Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall of the United Church of Oxford, located 16 Fort Hill Park (Merchant Street entrance, with parking at the Middle School across the street).

Vendors will be offering quality seasonal produce; milk, cheese and other dairy products; eggs galore; fresh baked breads, pies, and cookies; locally grown and milled grains and flours; local syrup and honey; hard ciders from Awestruck Ciders; jams and jellies; and beautiful artisan crafts.

Community Seed Giveaways are the way the Market helps to insure that no seed goes unplanted. In addition to the seeds being shared and given away, supplies and assistance will be on hand for students and children to plant some seeds in potting soil and take them home and watch them grow.

Story Continues Below Adverts

Attendees will learn the essentials of starting their own seeds, including planting and caring for seedlings. Bring your extra seeds if you have them, or just come browse through the seeds that others have brought to share. There are always more than enough.
