Furious fourth quarter gives UV its fourth win

Unadilla Valley 45, Sidney 37

SIDNEY - Unadilla Valley's furious fourth-quarter rally led it to its second win of the season on Tuesday night.

Coming off back-to-back sluggish middle quarters - in which it scored a combined 11 points - the Storm made up a 31-25 deficit outscoring Sidney 20-6 in the final quarter.

Junior Trason Murray led the UV comeback scoring eight of his game-high 20 points.

Zach Smith and Mitchell Thompson added key 3s in the final quarter.

OXFORD - Greene used balanced scoring up and down the lineup to defeat Oxford on Tuesday.

The Trojans (6-13) had four players score at least eight points. Joel Vielandi scored 12, Jaden Eroshevich had 10, while Bill Dunlap and Aiden Pickard scored eight each.

Oxford was hurt by 9-for-23 foul shooting in the game, which included a 3-for-11 aggregate in the first half.

Troy Simpson kept Oxford in the game in the fourth quarter scoring eight of his team-high 14 points. David Tucker (13) and Ethan Fleury (10) also scored in double figures for Oxford.

Unatego 68, Bainbridge-Guilford 49

WELLS BRIDGE -In the Midstate Athletic Conference semifinals, Unatego's Shea Barber scored a game-high 30 points leading his team into this weekend's league championship game.

"Unatego is well coached and a good team," said B-G coach Kevin Wehrli. "They did a good job, and their best player (Barber) is hard to contain."

Barber was effective in all four quarters, but came alive in the third downing 11 of his points to help Unatego extend its lead to 48-33.

David Emerson and Lucas Carlin had 13 points apiece to top B-G (9-10).
