BOYS' BASKETBALL

Sherburne-Earlville 54, Canastota 43

SHERBURNE - Sherburne-Earlville played complementary basketball on the offensive and defensive side of the ball to establish a big lead in Monday's home win over Canastota.

Preston Eaves scored a game-high 20 points for the Marauders (7-9), one shy of his season-high, as the Marauders won for the second time in three games.

"I thought we played very well defensively, and moved the ball well offensively for the first three quarters," said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard. "We made the extra pass, took good shots, looked to drive a little, kicked out to open looks, and swung it side to side, which is good basketball against the zone."

Brock Weidman had 12 points, five assists, and three steals for the Marauders, Taylor Gryzmkowski scored 10 points, and Zach Trass pulled down a team-best nine rebounds.
