NORWICH — The Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center will be holding their 44th annual Winter Living Celebration sponsored by NBT Insurance Agency from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, at the Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne.

"The whole event really is about learning new activities to do in the winter, and appreciating winter because we tend to get a lot of it here in Upstate New York," said Friends of Rogers Director of Development Heather Tehan. "You can appreciate the season more if you have an activity to do during the winter season."

The free event will feature several winter activities for area residents of all ages to enjoy. Attractions include horse drawn sleigh rides by Lamplit Farms, snowshoeing, fire pits sponsored by Blue Ox, campfire s'mores sponsored by Gilligan's Ice Cream, snow painting sponsored by Golden Artist Colors, basket raffles, catch and release ice fishing, and the opportunity to be a human bird feeder. Hot food will be sold by the Sherburne Rotary Club, depending on COVID conditions the day of the event.
