WRESTLING: Windsor Christmas Tournament

WINDSOR - Tioga led from start to finish claiming the Windsor Wrestling Tournament team title on Thursday.

The Tigers had four overall finalists and polled 154.5 points to easily outdistance Section III’s Indian River (107).

Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville placed 11th with 67 total points.

The Bears were led by 102-pound champion Darren Florance earned an 8-2 decision over Shoreham Wading River’s Gavin Mangano.

Norwich took six athletes to the tournament, and two placed among the top six as Norwich placed 18th with 40 points.

Brady Smith was fifth for Norwich at 145 pounds, while Ashton Jenkins wrestled back for a fifth at 160 pounds.
