We will be retelling and celebrating the story of Jesus’ birth with scriptures and Christmas songs.

Broad Street UMC wishes Merry Christmas to everyone and invites you to celebrate the birth of Jesus with us.

Blue Christmas Service on Tuesday.

A “Blue Christmas” Service will be on Tuesday (Dec. 21) beginning at 7 p.m. at the Broad Street United Methodist Church.

What is a “Blue Christmas” Service? For many people, the approaching Christmas holiday doesn’t bring with it the joy and happiness that’s advertised in the media or in greeting cards. Facing a holiday: after the death of a loved one, after a divorce or separation, while suffering with a life-threatening illness, while coping with the loss of a job, or any other situation that puts a question mark over our future can leave us feeling overwhelmed and downhearted.

Christmas Boxes

In “normal times”, we would have a signup sheet, around the end of November, to donate hams for our Christmas Boxes.  We will be unable to give out boxes again this year. It is hard to determine what the need will be this year.

We may have a lot more requests considering the circumstances we are now in.

We will give out vouchers to a grocery store and Chobani Yogurt on December 21 with  Morrisville Liberty Partnership at the Morrisville Extension Center   They will be giving out clothing at the same time.

Liberty Partnership will put them in their clothing bags to be distributed on that day. We really need monetary donations to be able to purchase the vouchers. As you know grocery prices are on the rise.

If you can give to this ministry please drop cash or check off to the church (make check payable to BSUMC and put Christmas Boxes on the memo line.) If you have any questions, call Linda Gregory 336-5180 or the church office at 334-2895. Thank you.

(Local religious groups may submit notices for services to News@evesun.com.)
