COVENTRY – The Silo Restaurant was destroyed by a fire in the very early hours of Sunday morning.

No injuries have been reported.

Chenango County Fire Coordinator and investigator Matthew Beckwith said the investigation into the cause was continuing.

“So right now we are still investigating – we have a bunch of follow-ups to determine a cause. The building was a total loss. There is nothing left. What's left of the roof is in the basement,” he said.

Beckwith said the owner, Gary Kurz, was out of town at the time of the fire and the business had been for sale. He said the business was open Saturday night and asked anyone who may have been there that night to contact fire investigators at (607) 334-5564.

“We did meet with staff, but anyone else who was there that night and might have saw something, we would like to talk to,” he said.

Officials said there was no reason to suspect foul-play.
