Town Of Sherburne Releases Comprehensive Plan Survey
Published: November 25th, 2021

SHERBURNE— As part of an effort to update its 2004 Comprehensive Plan, the Town of Sherburne released a Stakeholder Survey which is intended to gather input from residents of the Town and Village of Sherburne regarding key local development issues. Surveys were placed in the mail, with paid return postage.

The Comprehensive Plan Survey is designed to be anonymous, with respondents sharing demographic information as well as their preferences on economic development priorities, the provision of municipal services, and the protection of the Town’s natural resources.

Respondents can submit completed surveys in several ways. Completed surveys can be refolded and mailed to the Town, placed in one of several “drop boxes,” or respondents can complete the survey online at www.tinyurl.com/SherburneSurvey. Drop boxes are located at the Sherburne Town Hall, NBT Bank, the Sherburne Laundromat, and the Big M Grocery Store. The deadline for responses is December 1st, 2021.

Comprehensive plans are foundational documents-outlining a path for growth for a municipality over a 10 to 20-year planning horizon. The Town of Sherburne announced that it is updating its

2004 Comprehensive Plan in October 2020. The Town retained the Otsego County Conservation Association (OCCA) to provide technical assistance to the Town throughout the two-year planning process.

Individuals with questions or concerns about the Comprehensive Plan are encouraged to contact the Town of Sherburne Planning Board Clerk, Nancy Simerl at the following address: Town of Sherburne, Planning Board Clerk Nancy Simerl, 1 Canal Street Sherburne, NY 13820 althanancy@gmail.com.
