Commerce Chenango Hosts Fall Legislative Breakfast
Published: October 7th, 2021

NORWICH – Commerce Chenango will host their second annual Legislative Breakfast on Thursday, October 14, at The Silo Restaurant in Greene. In partnership with Chobani and supporting sponsors NBT Bank and Preferred Mutual Insurance Company, this event brings together state and local lawmakers in a relaxed and social environment to discuss policy issues and help cultivate relationships.

We are fortunate to have two guest speakers, Ryan Silva, Executive Director of the NYS Economic Development Council (NYSEDC), and Ken Pokalsky, Vice President of the The Business Council of New York State (BCNYS). They will both share legislative updates and an overview of their work in regard to their respective organizations.

Legislators that have accepted our invitation to attend and be a part of our panel discussion include Senator Fred Akshar, Assemblyman Joe Angelino, Assemblyman John Lemondes Jr, and Senator Peter Oberacker. In addition, a representative from the 22nd Congressional District will be in attendance.

“I am so pleased to offer the Legislative Breakfast once again to the Commerce Chenango businesses and partners,” notes Commerce Chenango President & CEO, Kerri Green. “Advocacy is a large part of the work that we do and providing the opportunity to dialogue with our elected officials, share our ideas and concerns is always time well spent. I appreciate that our guests see this event as a priority and have made the time to attend. It shows their willingness to come, listen, and be open to discussion with us about actions and changes happening at the local, state, and federal level.”

The Legislative Breakfast is open to both members and non-members; however, you must register by calling 607-334-1400 or by going online to commercechenango.com prior to the event. Payment is required prior to the event or at the door. Attendees are encouraged to send their questions for the panel via EM to info@chenangony.org by Tuesday, October 12.
