This year’s 2021 Manufacturer of the Year award was presented to Chenango Valley Technologies, located in Sherburne.

For those who are unfamiliar, Chenango Valley Technologies (CVT) is a full service plastic injection molding company that was founded in 1972 by Lloyd Baker. Although the company started out as Chenango Tool, it eventually transformed when the company purchased Madison Plastics of Verona, NY in 1997. The merging of these two companies led to the birth of Chenango Valley Technologies as we know it today.

The work at CVT revolves around designing and creating injection molds and molded products to provide their customers with the custom tools and designs needed to meet their needs. Additionally, they also offer a product line that consists of battery boxes and battery trays that are sold to the marine, RV, and automotive industries. Although their customer base is quite vast, their largest customers of injection moldings are those within the lawn and garden industries and the need for their products is largely growing within the medical industry.

Chenango Valley Technologies will be celebrating 50 years in business in 2022. If you’re looking for an example of how hard work and resiliency pay off- look no further than Chenango Valley Technologies. Over the years the company has grown exponentially, leading to the need to relocate three times including their last move in 1998 to their current location at 328 Route 12B in Sherburne, NY.

Although Chenango Valley Technologies is now the proud employer of 50 individuals, they started small with having only one single employee in 1975. Along with their steady rate of employment growth, they have made several machine and technology upgrades throughout the years to keep up with the ever changing industry requirements and to ensure the highest quality of products. They have gone above and beyond to ensure the continual growth and success of the business.

In response to receiving the 2021 Manufacturer of the Year Award, current President Shawn Baker said “I am very proud of our team. It takes everyone here to make us succeed. I was excited to accept the award with my father who started the company and our tool room Manager, Jim Peckham, who celebrated 25 years with CVT in 2021.” For more information about Chenango Valley Technologies, check out their website at www.chenangovalleytech.com
