GREENE — On Thursday, Senator Fred Akshar continued his district-wide Business Recovery and Reopening Tour at four locations in Greene.

Akshar made stops at the site of the planned Greene Labor Day Picnic at the Greene Ball Flats, The Silo Restaurant, The Greene Bowlodrome, and Chenango Sales.

“Our local businesses have endured so much hardship over the past year, that's why it’s important that I visit and listen to as many of our local business owners as possible to learn how we can be most helpful on their road to recovery,” said Senator Fred Akshar. “Unfortunately, I continue to hear about local businesses like the Silo Restaurant and the Greene Bowlodrome facing increased food costs and the same labor shortage issues as other restaurants and businesses around the country. Government at every level should focus on making it easier for individuals to return to the workforce rather than on creating incentives, directly or indirectly, that encourage our workforce to stay home."
