State Police Charge Man With Assault And Harming Animal In Earlville

EARLVILLE - State Police have arrested a Hamilton man upon allegations that he struck someone in the face and beat a small dog with a wooden dowel.

Police were dispatched by Chenango County 911 to a domestic dispute at a S. Main Street residence in the Village of Earlville. Police later arrested 21-year-old Noah Bascom at his residence in Hamilton.

Bascom was charged for the misdemeanor of assault in the third degree and agriculture and markets law of overdriving, torturing, and injuring an animal.

The victim was taken by a third party to Community Hospital in Hamilton and treated.

Bascom was transported to the State Police barracks in Norwich where he was processed and released on an appearance ticket to Earlville Village Court on Aug. 11.
