Greene softball improves to 3-0

SIDNEY - Greene scored four runs in the opening inning, and that was more than enough offense to support pitcher Olivia Kennedy in an 8-1 win at Sidney on Monday.

Kennedy's battery mate, Mckenzie Scott, had a big day at the plate. Scott tripled and homered, and finished with three runs scored.

Alex Brown added three hits in four at-bats for the Trojans (3-0) including a double and two runs scored.

Kennedy, meanwhile, recorded 20 of the 21 outs herself finishing with 20 strikeouts. She helped her own cause delivering two hits and two runs scored.

Greene 286, Oxford 300

OXFORD - At Bluestone Golf Course Monday, Greene had more balanced play from its top three scorers, and picked up a 14-shot win over the host Blackhawks.

Christian Paden led Oxford shooting a 55, and Bennett Paden scored a 58 in Oxford's loss. The latter Paden made up 10 shots on his playing opponent over the final  four holes finishing with a four-stroke advantage.

Bainbridge-Guilford 5, Deposit-Hancock 0

BAINBRIDGE - Bainbridge-Guilford notched its first win of the season taking all five team points from Deposit-Hancock on Monday.

Garrett O'Hara, Porter Easton, and Brock Porter all won in straight sets in singles. On the doubles' side, the teams of Marek Rajner-Giovanni Johnson, along with Sienko Cooper-Kevin Lang, also earned straight doubles wins for the Bobcats (1-2)

WINDSOR - This past Tuesday, Windsor dominated the four singles matches not allowing more than one game in a four-match sweep en route to a 5-1 victory.

Norwich avoided a shutout with a win at second doubles.

Philip Kraft and Matthew Hall outlasted the Black Knights' Zachary Lockwood and Connor Hatala-Scrambling, 9-7.
