Hamilton 195, Sherburne-Earlville 196

SHERBURNE -- Sherburne-Earlville had the overall medalist, but it was slightly better balance that allowed Hamilton to edge the Marauders by one stroke in Thursday's golf match.

S-E's Andrew Fern was six shots better than any player on the course. Fern fired a 2-over-par 36 to easily claim medalist honors.

Hamilton, meanwhile, made up the difference as Ryan Peters carded a 42, and Will Penoyer a 46.

Oxford tops Hancock for first win

HANCOCK -  Faced with miserable conditions that would rival the worst links conditions in Scotland, Oxford brought home a soggy 286-341 victory over host Hancock at French Woods Golf and Country Club on Monday afternoon.

Oxford head coach, Tim Paden, said that only the top two players on each team completed nine holes. The remaining groups finished six holes, and the rain delay scoring formula that prorates final scores based on completed holes was used to tabulate final scoring.

Hancock's Nick Locke shot a match-low 44 to top all players, but Oxford's superior balance made the difference.

Christian Paden led Oxford (1-1) shooting a 51, Ethan Fleury carded a 55, and Bennett Paden fired a 57 to round out the top three Blackhawks performances.

Individual scoring

Oxford (286):  Christian Paden 51; Ethan Fleury 55, Bennett Paden 57, Liam O'Brien 60; Ethan Hodge 64.

Hancock (341):  Nick Locke 44. (Other names not available)
