Woman Ticketed After Striking Sherburne Library With Truck

SHERBURNE – A woman is facing criminal charges after allegedly driving drunk and striking the Sherburne Public Library with a truck on Saturday.

According to Chenango County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Joshua Gould, law enforcement was dispatched at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday with a report that an individual in a Chevy pick-up truck drove into the northeast corner of the Sherburne Library.

Gould said after arriving on scene, Sherry Knapp, 54, of Sherburne was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and failure to keep right.

“According to the report, she tested more than double the legal limit at that time,” said Gould. “It doesn’t appear that she sustained injuries in the accident.”
