NEW BERLIN - Unadilla Valley combined strong offense with stingy defense, and recorded its second win in as many days blanking Walton, 4-0, on Tuesday.

Trason Murray scored his first varsity goal to open UV’s scoring 14 minutes into the contest, and freshman Trevor Smith made it a two-goal halftime lead tallying in the 28th minute.

“We played well offensively and defensively,” said UV-GMU coach Matt Osborne. “We had some younger guys score. we shared the ball and played unselfish soccer.  One of our goals at halftime was to complete the shutout, and we attained that by being in position to help on defense.”

Devon Fairchild scored from closer range six minutes into the second half, and Zach Fleming headed in a 30-yard free kick from Cameron Osborne to complete UV-GMU’s scoring.

Gavin Bonczkowski made five saves in goal for the winners to earn the shutout.
