St. Baldrick’s fundraiser has record breaking year

NORWICH – The St. Baldrick’s fundraiser for childhood cancer research in Norwich had a record breaking year with people from all over the Southern Tier shattering the original goal of $30,000.

According to Norwich St. Baldrick’s event co-coordinator A Wesley Jones, organizers thought while they might make their goal, they didn’t expect the overwhelming financial support from this year’s event.

“We were going to be happy just breaking our $30,000 goal, but in the end we’re going to end up having our biggest year ever,” said Jones. “Even when we were at the event and donations were coming in we didn’t realize how well it was going until afterwards, and then we realized we may be able to beat our all time high.”
