Health Department To Vaccinate School Staff And Disability Facilities Soon

CHENANGO – Chenango County Health Department coordinated 204 vaccinations in the last week and they hope to offer at least a 100 more to school staff in the next few days by lottery.

Vaccines administered since Jan. 26 in Chenango County:

Group 1A and 1B: 55 doses.

Those over the age of 65: 149

Doses administered by the health department in last seven days: 204

All does administered so far in Chenango County: 819.

The health department hopes to offer an additional 200 doses this week for developmental disabilities facilities, and school staff.

“We are working with BOCES and the school superintendents to choose a randomized list to receive the vaccine using a lottery system,” Health Department spokesman Isaiah Sutton reported. “Vaccine supply is still very limited. We have seven days to distribute any vaccine that we receive.”
