John Quattrocchi announce run for Norwich mayor

NORWICH – On Tuesday city of Norwich resident John Quattrocchi announced he will run for the position of Mayor for the City of Norwich as a Democratic candidate.

“I am excited to formally announce my candidacy for the Mayor’s office. My educational and professional experience are well suited to execute the duties of this office. I understand the fiscal responsibilities which cannot be taken lightly and must be given the day to day attention required. Strong communication about COVID-19 and all the challenges it presents the community is essential,” he said.

I am aware of many of the needs and the public concerns of the community as well as the resources that are available and under-utilized. As a life long resident of the city, I currently own two businesses and several properties. I raised my family in Norwich. I have experience working as an EMT (municipal ambulance service, as a volunteer and for profit).

My vision for the city is to harness our strengths and get more residents involved in helping the city in a forward direction. Now is the time for change. There are three alderperson positions open this year in Wards 2,4,6. This may create opportunities for fresh ideas for our local government. My promise is to serve the residents of Norwich by supporting Public Safety, continuing forward with city revitalization and infrastructure, thereby improving our streets and neighborhoods.

I’m running for Mayor as I believe in the citizens of Norwich and together we can meet the challenges ahead of us, building a safe, inclusive, and innovative city we can all be proud of.

I am looking forward to conversations with voters about moving the city forward.

The city is overdue for bold, rational leadership and my goal is the make sure the residents’ concerns are heard, businesses are informed and the younger generation that chooses to reside here has something to look forward to and be a part of. I’d like to be known as a leader who represents ordinary people. I would encourage community members to feel free to reach out to me with concerns and ideas through email at quattro4@roadrunner.com
