NORWICH – There will be a free live drive through nativity event in the City of Norwich on Christmas Eve as part of a program organized by the Canaswacta Valley Free Methodist Church, known locally as the cvfree church.

The event will occur from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on December 24, Christmas Eve, at the Chenango County Fairgrounds West Main entrance.

Church Lead Pastor Jen Westervelt said this is the first time the event will be offered at the Chenango County Fairgrounds, and that the drive through concept should help keep people safe from the coronavirus.

Westervelt said in a time when we so often get caught up in the "stuff" of Christmas, this event simplifies the true meaning of this special season in an interactive experience that will be entertaining for all ages.

She said the church's focus on mobilizing volunteers to joyfully serve their community is shining through this Christmas season as they are excited to host a “Drive Thru Live Nativity” event on Christmas Eve.
