Village Of Oxford Celebrates Small Business Saturday And Holiday Season

OXFORD – On Saturday, November 28th, the Village of Oxford will be open for the holidays, as area shops, markets and restaurants celebrate national Small Business Saturday and the start of the holiday season.

Those looking to get out after their Thanksgiving gatherings can park their car at Lafayette Park, newly decorated for the season, and then head to five festive marketplaces and a host of great eateries

Participating shops and holiday markets include: Oxford’s Annual Christmas Market held at 6 On the Square, featuring the work of the beloved local artist, Francis Wilcox, Wilcox Maple Products and one of a kind hand-made knit and quilted items by Linda Meek; Gallery Three-Two-One & Strong Stone Pottery, a family-run gallery and studio offering American made arts and craft work by over 250 artists, where shoppers will find handmade jewelry, pottery, glass-work, wood, steel, furniture, and other unique items; Kutiks Everything Bees, for honey lovers, bee enthusiasts and those looking for honey-themed gifts.

Oxford’s family-owned Bartle’s Pharmacy, with aisles of locally-produced gift items, as well as splatter enamelware, perfumes and chocolates; and the Local Gifts by Local Hands a special Artisan Market hosted by the Oxford Winter Farmers’ Market, showcasing the work of many local artisans, including local fiber products, pottery, willow basketry, trees and ornaments, pinecone Christmas trees, holiday wreaths, local lavender items, one-of-a-kind cards and hand-made aprons.

Shoppers can make it a day in the Village of Oxford from breakfast thru dinner at the many great eateries, including Hoppies Restaurant and Ice Cream, Roma Pizzeria and Restaurant, The Stadium Sports Bar & Grill, and Joe & Vinny’s Pizzeria — all open for sit-down or takeout meals.
