Two Charged With Stealing Thousands Worth Of Car Parts In Norwich

NORWICH – Two men were charged with stealing catalytic converters from eight different vehicles in the Town of Norwich.

Paul J. Knuth Jr., 35, and Samuel C. Furlong, 36, were charged with third-degree grand larceny, third-degree criminal mischief, and fifth-degree conspiracy.

According to a statement from the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, the two worked together to remove catalytic converters from eight separate vehicles and then sold them out of Chenango County.

Police said the thefts resulted in more than $11,000 in damages to the vehicles, and that both individuals were issued appearance tickets. Police added that they are scheduled to appear in the Norwich Town Court at a later date.
