OXFORD - The Oxford Academy and Central School District board members held a virtual zoom conference Tuesday morning and discussed their capital project, along with the school’s supply of masks for the school year.

In order to watch the public meetings live, school representatives require individuals to visit the Oxford Middle School in person and watch from a special viewing room. Representatives said no more than 10 people are allowed to watch at a time, and that it's done that way to make executive sessions easier to manage.

Recordings of board meetings are available on the school’s website, oxac.org.

According to Oxford Academy and Central Schools Superintendent John T. Hillis, Oxford school’s capital project is moving along well, and more than 80 cases of masks have been ordered for the upcoming school year.

“The Capital Project has no new surprises,” said Hillis. “We actually had the survey on the service road to the bus garage taken care of last Saturday, and the surveyor had the report on our desk Monday morning.”

“We’re probably going to get some of the property that used to be town property signed over to us. It will fall under our capital project and that service road is going to be district property from here on out if everything goes to plan.”
