Spring Brush Cleanup Extended Through May

NORWICH - According to the City of Norwich, Spring brush cleanup has been extended to the end of month of May.

Residents may use clear, black or biodegradable paper bags to dispose of leaves, grass clippings and twigs. No colored bags, other than black, or cardboard boxes. The City is currently accepting black bags due to the difficulty in locating clear bags.

Brush is to be bundled and tied with string, twine or thin rope, no wire is allowed. All items to be placed between curb and sidewalk area and each bag must be light enough for one person to lift shoulder high

The city can not collect stones, bags with papers, garbage or animal feces, tree removals or stumps, or bush removals.

Remember that the City picks up brush only two times per year, once in the spring and once in the fall. If you have any questions, please call the City Department of Public Works at 334-1240.
