GREENE - Over the past few weeks, Raymond’s engineering team and associates have begun to 3D print and assemble face shields to be dispersed to local hospitals and emergency responders throughout Chenango and Broome county.

Raymond Spokeswoman Elizabeth Buza said the idea was first brought to light by Raymond Engineer Josh Smith.

“Smith's mother is a nursing professor at SUNY Morrisville’s Norwich campus. When she asked him if he could make some of these shields in his home workshop with his 3D printers, he floated the idea to Raymond. Within the same day, Vice President of Engineering Erric Heitmann and Raymond were on-board to see how we can support their efforts,” said Buza.
