Buzzer beating heart breaker ends S-E senior night on a sour note Prior to the start of the game between Sherburne-Earlville and Holland Patent Thursday night, the Marauders’ head coach Kevin Vibbard recognized the six seniors set to graduate in June on this year’s roster. SHERBURNE – Trailing Holland Patent 52-46 with 2:15 remaining in the contest, Sherburne-Earlville’s Taylor Grzymkowski went on a 6-0 scoring run to bring his team back into the game.

With 36 seconds left, Grzymkowski’s bucket tied the game at 52-52. They were, however, the Marauders final points of the contest.

The visiting Holland Patent Golden Knights were the last to get a shot attempt off and, coming up a big way for his team, was Adam Jones draining a 3-pointer with 4.2 seconds remaining.

Jones’ buzzer beater was the game winner between S-E and Holland Patent as the Golden Knights took the 55-52 league victory on the Marauders’ senior night.

Sherburne-Earlville jumped out to a fast start on both ends of the floor as they took the early 11-5 lead after the first eight minutes of play.
