Vikings Avenge Early Season Loss To Stockbridge Valley

S-E nearly knocks off divisional leader Clinton

MUNNSVILLE – Outscoring the host Stockbridge Valley Cougars 24-7 in the fourth, the Vikings of Otselic Valley earned the 62-46 league win Tuesday evening.

OV trailed through the first three quarters of play, falling behind 17-11 after the opening eight minutes of play. The second quarter went in favor of the Vikings as they put up 20 points in the stanza, chipping five off the Cougars’ lead to go into the locker room down by a single point.

Both teams’ offensive attacks slowed down in the third as Stockbridge Valley and Otselic Valley each scored seven points, keeping the deficit at one.

The Vikings, however, were able to find their offense in the fourth while the Cougars were unable to get anything going.

OV’s Garrett Wood led all scorers with 23 points in the game and added four steals, three assists and three rebounds to his statline.

Lane Adams and Nicholas Stone each reached double figures in the win as Stone finished with 11 and Adams totaled 10. Stone also pulled down a team-best nine rebounds, falling just one shy of a double-double.

Levi Lyon and Braeden Davis chipped in seven points each for the Vikings.
