NORWICH – A Norwich man was held on $100,000 cash bail following the reveal of a sealed indictment Monday, for crimes including first-degree burglary and robbery.

Christopher Bono, 31, of Norwich was arrested after he allegedly robbed a victim with a knife and then fled police on January 9, causing a vehicle chase through Chenango and Broome County.

Bono is charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, first-degree attempted burglary, first-degree attempted robbery, and reckless endangerment. Chenango County Judge Frank Revoir Jr. ordered that Bono be held on $100,000 cash bail and remanded to the county jail. Bono also has a pending parole hearing for a prior conviction.

According to Chenango County District Attorney Michael Ferrarese, Bono is facing 25 years to life in prison if convicted on the top count.

In court, Ferrarese said Bono is a flight risk and could be classified as a persistent felon with three unrelated felony convictions on his record.
