Lady Storm Feuds With Forks But Fall In Non-league Contest

OV’s Kalin paces team in loss to New York Mills

NEW BERLIN – Despite trailing 19-10 after the opening quarter, the Lady Storm of Unadilla Valley found their way back into the game with Chenango Forks a few times. However, the visiting Blue Devils were able to hold on to their lead for the 55-43 league win over the Storm Wednesday night.

Meegan White of UV poured in a game-high 21 points with 12 coming from behind the 3-point arc. White paced the team through the first three quarters of the game and knocked down three of her long-range buckets in the third quarter to put her team within 13 points.

The Storm outscored Chenango Forks in the fourth quarter 13-12 behind their free throw shooting as Unadilla Valley went 6-for-8 in the stanza.

Kayla Christian went 4-of-6 at the charity stripe while Emily Hill made both of her attempts at the foul line. Christian added a 3-pointer to give the home team five in the game and tally a total of seven points for the night.

“We played pretty well,” said Storm’s head coach Brandi Whitbeck. “We got down but fought back a couple of times throughout but we just had too many turnovers.”
