OXFORD – Emergency crews responded to a fatal accident at about 7 a.m. Wednesday morning involving two trucks and a car in the Town of Oxford.
Chenango County Sheriff Ernest R. Cutting said at least one driver was killed and others suffered injury.
The collision occurred south of the village, along State Highway 12 and the intersection of the South Oxford Bridge Road.
According to investigators all the vehicles were heading south on Rt. 12 when the first vehicle, a truck, slowed down to make a left hand turn onto the South Oxford Bridge Road.
A car following that truck also slowed down, but a third vehicle, another truck, following behind the car was unable to stop and crashed in the rear of the car, crushing it in between the two trucks. The driver of the car was killed, reported the Sheriff’s Office.
