NORWICH – Prosecutors from the Chenango County District Attorney’s Office were sworn-in Friday. At the ceremony officials noted the challenges ahead for the new staff following recent criminal justice reforms by New York State.

Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Garry said this is an opportunity for legal representatives to strive to do they best they can, and exemplify justice and virtue. She noted the laws were changing and a different set of criminal justice procedures were now being implemented, following reforms enacted on January 1.

“We all know that Michael Ferrarese is stepping into a whole new legal arena,” said Garry. “The laws that govern us have changed dramatically, and so we know that Michael Ferrarese and his crew are going to be confronting whole new challenges.”
