NEW BERLIN – According to officials from the Village of New Berlin, this year’s Spirit of Christmas event was a success this year, with over 50 families receiving free food and toys for the holidays.

According to Village of New Berlin Mayor Terry Potter, the event was held on December 21 in the New Berlin Fire Station, and was a success thanks to the collaborative efforts of local volunteers and entities like the RC Smith Foundation.

“Between the businesses and private donations, it was a great year and really tells a lot about our community as a whole,” said Potter. “As a community member I’m really proud of New Berlin and the efforts we saw that day.”
