GREENE – At approximately 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, a Greene Central School bus traveling on New York State Route 206 near West Bainbridge had a mechanical malfunction, and school officials said no students were injured as a result of the incident.

According to Greene Superintendent of Schools Tim Calice, the bus was in the process of bringing students back to Greene when a mechanical issue caused the bus’s engine to billow smoke.

“The mechanical issue caused smoke/steam to billow from the engine area section of the bus,” said Calice. “The bus immediately pulled over.”
