EDMESTON – NYCM Insurance broke ground on a 35,500-square-foot building at its headquarters in Edmeston Thursday, and officials said the new building will offer additional conference rooms, work stations and offices, as well as a 600-seat auditorium for events and town hall meetings.

According to NYCM representative Emilee Janitz, this addition will continue to build on NYCM’s investment in the Chenango County area, with hopes of promoting integration with its community.

Janitz said the main office building in Edmeston is a 134,000 square foot building, with other additions including an on-site cafe and fitness center being past construction projects.

“This hopefully provides some perspective on the new building size,” said Janitz. “We're also very fortunate that aside from our main office building we also have a fitness center, on-site cafe, education center and Inn.”

She said the newest addition’s floor plan has the auditorium residing on the first floor alongside a string of conference rooms, making up 17,500 square feet. She added that on the second floor, an additional 18,000 square feet will serve as office space.
